I've been organising the degree show for wolverhampton Uni's animation course. This is actually the second time I've done it, last year having been asked at the last moment to take over for a girl who had done absolutly nothing. Over two weeks I managed to scrape something together with the help of people on the course who wernt too busy and some poor suckers I know who I dragged along and thrust a paint brush at.

This year I had a whole year to plan, but whenever I would bring it up I would get people tutting and saying it's too early to think about it. Then I finaly got to a point where they would listen and we had a few meetings to discuss what to do better than previous shows, this was met with enthusiasm in general and lots of nodding.

You'd have thought with a run up of months before the show I would have had plenty of time to make this a pretty good show. But goddamn if this year is the most unhelpful selfish lot I've met.
They beg for help from one another and then wont help back, I say that as something I've seen happen here not something that happened personally to me.

I watched the other courses work together and put on some amazing shows along with great dvds and the like to go with it. not to mention fundraising. But no one here actually wanted to do the work.

I needed to get everyone's films together so I could see about getting a full thing together that could be taken away by everyone who came to see, esspecially the prespective employers coming through. But no, I get them all a week if not 2 weeks late and then have to pull something out of my arse.

There were boards that needed to be painted and put behind the computers so that everyone could have a personal display space, each needing an underlaying coat and a second one.
I had all of 7 people help me out of the entire lot of people who wanted to be on the show. I even went and scrounged up an extra set of boards and got it cut and painted myself ontop of what I'd already done because there were more people than boards, only to have people turn up and go 'actually nah I'm not coming'

So Fuck almost all of the Wolverhampton Animation class of 2008.

GAH!
